Magnum Opus

Magnum OPUS - Stimulant FREE Energy

Magnum Nutraceuticals is a Canadian company and produces quality products. They are not a huge name in the global market yet but they are already winning awards in Canada. All Magnums ingredients are 100% pharmaceutical grade.

Their latest addition to their lineup is OPUS; OPUS is a stimulant free pre-workout that supposedly works “within minutes”. I have received a sample of OPUS and will be writing a short review very soon, stay tuned for that. In the mean time you can check out the ingredient label for yourself below. The ingredient label looks fairly unique, which is really saying something in the supplement business with so many companies making competing products.

If you just want to jump right into OPUS before I post my review you can purchase it for only $34.95 at the bodybuilding store – Magnum OPUS Product Page

RivalUs Complx5

RivalUs' Pre-Workout Complx5

RivalUs is a Canadian based company that prides itself on guaranteeing that all of their products are safe for athletes to take and even have Health Canada certification on the majority of their products, which is huge for Canada.

I am a fan of most of Rival-Us’ products but for this review we will be focusing on their pre-workout – Complx5. The 5 is referring to the amount of ingredients used in the formula, what RivalUs refers to as 5 energy and fatigue buffering ingredients. The 5 ingredients are Micronized Bicarbonate (improves absorption), N-Acetyl-Tyrosine (energy), Citruline Malate (increase blood flow), Beta-Alanine (buffers lactic acid), and last but not least Red Ginseng (energy). You may notice that this pre-workout is essentially stimulant free which is, personally, one of my favourite parts about it. Not everyone wants 200-600mg of caffeine everyday in their pre-workout; don’t get me wrong, I love caffeine and have my fair share of it but once in a while everyone needs a break.

Highlights:

-Surprising amount of energy considering it does not contain any caffeine
-Fruit Punch flavour is delicious, orange is okay (personal opinion)
-Option to add in your own stimulants and/or creatine
-Approved by Health Canada

Only complaint I have is that whatever they use to flavour it or change the colour seems to stain plastic cups. Be sure to always use a glass cup/mug when mixing this and definitely wash it out right after to avoid any chance of stained cups. It won’t stain cups immediately but if left unwashed for even just an hour it will be very hard to get the colour stains out. Although, like me, I am sure some of you probably have an insane amount of plastic shakers and might be time to throw a couple out anyway.

In conclusion, this is a very solid product and as far as stimulant free pre-workouts go, it is currently tops my list. Don’t forget you can always add in your own stimulants if need be.

This is currently available on their site at www.rivalus.net and your local GNC, you will not likely find it at any other retailers because they have a deal with GNC to exclusively sell to them. The GNC gold card (membership card) price is $55.99 regular, fortunately it is often on sale as well.
