Magnum Opus
The release of Magnum Nutraceutical’s stimulant free pre-workout, Opus, has been creating quite a bit of hype in the supp junkie community; a lot to do with the fact that it is a stimulant free pre-workout and in the words of Magnum you can “FEEL THIS IN MINUTES”. I wanted to put this claim to the test and luckily enough I managed to get my hands on a sample of it.
First of all, remember this is just my own experience with Opus. Experience may vary depending on the individual.
With that said, let us begin…
Energy: Compared to other stimulant free pre-workouts? Very good, felt very natural, no jitters and it lasted throughout my workout – 9/10 – Did I feel this “within minutes”? Hard to say, I was so excited to try it that I was pumped up before I even drank it. Let’s just say that when I got to the gym I was completely focused on pumping iron instead of just beginning my workout with a bit of socializing, which happens all too often for me. My energy was consistent throughout my workout and I had absolutely ZERO crash after my workout (no jitters during either). I did feel the beta alanine tingle but it wasn’t over powering which was a plus for me.
Mixability: I can easily give the mixability a 10/10 for Opus; mixed perfectly without any floaties on top or sinkers sitting at the bottom. It does foam up a bit but I have no problem with a frothy pre-workout so, didn’t bother me at all.
Nothing quite like a nice frothy pre-workout before a hard workout!
Taste: Currently the only flavour available is Cellular Punch – It tastes pretty good, better than I expected. Taste would be an 8.5/10 relative to other pre-workouts. When compared to cheese cake – 4/10 – but lets keep this relative to its own category shall we. It tastes kind of like kool-aid only with that pre-workout tang to it, if that makes any sense. Either way, the flavour will definitely NOT be a deal breaker for anyone.
Misc: It mixes into a sort of glowing green colour! Sometimes the little things really do make a difference and let’s be honest; If you had two identical products but one mixed into a glowing green colour – you would pick the glowing green one.
Overall: 9.5/10 in the stimulant free pre-workout category – Awesome stimulant free pre-workout! Just remember, don’t go into it expecting to get that jittery buzz high on crack feeling that some pre-workouts might give you. This pre-workout is all about natural sustained energy and zero crash while increasing your strength, endurance, focus, and recovery.
I have only used it once so I cannot comment on how well it works overtime. Once I buy a bottle of it I will update my review.
